Kodō Butoku Renmei are proud to partner with the Essex Anglo-Japanese Society in order to promote the biggest Japanese cultural event in Essex for 2017.

There will be an array of different Japanese cultural activities taking place across the weekend. Featuring performances from some of the finest practitioners in the country, the Kodōsai Cultural Event will also feature interactive workshops and “You Try’ sessions, intended to involve not just martial artists, but those from our surrounding communities as well.

Murasaki Shodō Kai will be providing Shodō (Japanese calligraphy) sessions throughout the weekend, enabling all participants to learn how to brush characters in Japanese.

Various volunteers from EAJS will be providing Nihongo (Japanese language) sessions allowing all taking part to learn basic words and phrases in the volunteer’s native tongue.

We are also very pleased to announce that we will be holding a ‘Sumo Workshop’ for the children where they will get to learn about the traditional Japanese sport, as well as get to play with the funsize Sumo suits!

The event truly promises to be a festival of Japanese culture!

Please note - all performances are subject to change.
